Even though it was a rainy day, lots of quilters, QNN.tv fans and Mark Lipinski “cupcakes” turned out to show off their UFOs and consult with Mark and Jodie Davis about how to finish off–or in some cases, start—that elusive project. While we were there to snap photos and watch the fun, Linda Stewart Pearl from the Squanicook Colonial Quilt Guild, Susie Riley, and Lisa Cortemanche from the Amoskeag Quilters Guild showed their projects. Nancy Cote brought in a baseball quilt that was almost done, but needed some finishing touches. Another woman from Maine (who’s name we didn’t catch) brought in a beautiful Christmas Quilt, and we all enjoyed listening to her talk about it with Mark and Jodie.
A special treat was having our own Joshua Silveira—a budding quilt designer whose parents, Josh and Sarah, both work at KQ—there. Joshua loves to sew, and was so excited to be there. He and Mark hit it off right away, even though Mark tried to marry him off to Jodie because she has a huge fabric stash!
One fun moment was when Lisa Cortemanche showed Mark and Jodie her vintage Liberty of London fabrics. Mark loves Liberty fabrics; so much so that he tried to hide some in his shirt!
Mark and Jodie were so nice to everyone in the store and engaged everyone in conversation, even Evelyn, after he lectured her about making sure he didn’t look too fat in her photos. It was a great day and everyone in the store laughed and learned a lot.
We hope you enjoy looking through our photos!
